Naik Mukesh Singh Manhas, a 29-year-old soldier from Jammu and Kashmir's Samba, was killed in an IED blast carried out by terrorists near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu's Akhnoor sector. A truck driver was killed in Army firing in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir after he allegedly refused to stop his vehicle at a checkpost despite repeated warnings.
